Mirrors – burr oak and brown oak

So mirrors, some commissioned and some for stock, probably going to Dansel Gallery are what are in the workshop at the moment.

Brown Oak Mirrors

I should get them finished next week some time. When the actual mirror has been cut. The brown oak is particularly attractive with some tiger effect on it (stripe looking) as per a similar mirror shown here.

The burr oak mirrors are similar shape and size. With one commission being a sculpted interesting mirror having more of a drift wood feel to it. Pictures to follow when complete.

Delivered a staircase in oak this week to a client who is renovating barns and outbuildings and I believe I will be doing another stair case for. I will try to get some pictures of the installed staircases next time I visit. I also took over two commissioned lamps to the clients design, I had finished. (No pictures – I’m beginning to see the error of my ways and need to make sure I take pictures of everything I do. As words just don’t work)

I also have some Spalted Beech turned cone shape lamps I have to get finished and tested ready for delivery to Dansel Gallery this week. Again pictures to follow.

Last week – not mirrors

Oak Board 100

Oak Board 100mm thick

But very large 100mm thick oak boards for Dubai. Why they wanted them that thick I have no idea and don’t want to put any suggestions forward either. I also managed to finish off 6 standard lamps in different woods, which I will get pictures of some time and talk about. Made some single candle holders for The Meeting House to deliver with some coaster sets. Also finishing off two sets of mitered nests of tables and two sets of mitered nests of tables with natural edge all in Spalted Beech.
